Jeff Griffith Youth Center offers homeless youth free breakfast and lunch, showers, clothing, laundry facilities, a cyber center, counseling and social activities as well as free testing for HIV and other STDs.
If you are among the thousands of lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender young people living on the streets of Los Angeles, the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center is here for you. We offer everything you need to get off the streets and make a better life for yourself: from food, clothing and housing to counseling and job placement services. You aren't alone. At our Jeff Griffith Youth Center we offer free breakfast and lunch, showers, clothing, laundry facilities, a cyber center, counseling and social activities as well as free testing for HIV and other STDs. We also offer a program to help you get the equivalency of a high school diploma (GED) and/or a job. If you are 18-24 years old, without a place to live but ready to make a commitment to getting off the streets, we have a 24-bed transitional living program in Hollywood where you may be able to stay for up to 18 months. With dorm style rooms, a cyber center, a recreation room, and three meals a day, it offers everything you need while staff help you land a job and/or get you into school. We'll also work with you to develop the skills and resources you'll need to successfully make it on your own.
